In Planet Explorers one of my favorite things to do was hang gliding off the highest peak I could find after jetpacking as high as I could go.
Considering they are showing the demo off on current gen playstation and xbox consoles, I'd say the sky is the limit. UE5 might actually be able to render a 2.0 version of the explorer game a few of us cherished.
If a massive city with streets and roads and buildings can be made and generated within certain parameters, why not landscapes with rivers, mountains, caves, and valleys? Like an actually stable dream version of the first one that I spent hours walking around and navigating. The UE5 Matrix demo got me thinking about what is actually possible with current tech in terms of procedurally generating a world to explore in real time.
